Susan Hwang joined in October 2019, is based in the Los Angeles area, and serves as the point of contact for US donors.

Prior to joining ClientEarth, Susan worked with major donors for Marketplace by American Public Media, and led fundraising efforts at UCLA, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Facing History and Ourselves, and mothers2mothers (an HIV relief NGO working in Africa).

Born in South Korea and raised in Los Angeles since 6-years-old, Susan became committed to a career in service of a greater good during her four years at Scripps College in Clarement, CA. After several years of graduate education in cultural studies, Susan started her nonprofit career with fellowships at the National Endowment for the Arts in DC, and at the Huntington Library in San Marino.

I’m thrilled and energized to be working alongside colleagues, partners, and philanthropists who are making such a big difference fighting the climate crisis. I am incredibly proud to be able to say wholeheartedly that this is the most important work they can support at this moment.
