Focus

Hope’s work at ClientEarth focuses on holding corporations accountable for their role in the perpetration of environmental harms.

Experience

Prior to joining ClientEarth, Hope gained a breadth of experience in consumer protection issues at nonprofits and the federal government. In her most recent role, Hope provided direct legal services to low- and moderate-income homeowners facing foreclosure and predatory lending. With the Borrower’s Defense Group at the U.S. Department of Education, Hope drafted legal analyses with recommendations for discharge of student loan debt based on misrepresentations by for-profit higher educational institutions under federal regulations and state consumer protection laws resulting in over five billion dollars in loan forgiveness for more than 280,000 defrauded students. As an eviction defense attorney in Washington, D.C., she represented hundreds of low-income tenants throughout their eviction proceedings. Hope began her legal career as a Fellow with the Economic Justice Project of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Her interest in corporate accountability stems from her time volunteering with EarthRights International on the Thai-Burmese border.

Education

Hope received her J.D. from UC Davis School of Law, where she was recipient of a Witkin Award for Academic Excellence. She received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Arcadia University.

Hope is based in Los Angeles and enjoys exploring Southern California’s beautiful mountains and beaches.
