Nik Mittal is a founder/Managing Partner of Molecule Ventures LLC, a New York City-based environmental markets investment firm. He is also a Partner in Plankton Energy, a commercial/community solar developer focused on broadening participation in the energy transition.

Nik was a Senior Fellow, Climate Innovation and Policy at the Environmental Defense Fund, and before working in climate, a Partner at JANA Partners LLC, an event-driven investment firm focused on shareholder engagement and an adjunct professor at NYU Stern. 

Nik received his JD/MBA from NYU School of Law and NYU Stern School of Business, as well as a Certification in Sustainable Finance from Columbia University. Prior to this, he received a B.A. in economics, with honors and distinction, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH).

Nik is a member of the NYU School of Law Board of Trustees, New York Cares Leadership Circle, the Steering Committee for the Climate Strategies Group donor collective and the on the Board of Directors of JetBlue Airways. Additionally, Nik is a music lover, big sports fan, and aspiring surfer.
